Some things have to be done so that the house 'looks normal'.
People can overlook the need for wiring and plumbing but can be very concerned about loose plasterboard on a ceiling, or lack of wallpaper or paint.
I am concentrating on repairing the ceilings after the roof replacement, then the rest of the plastering, and then I will need to install a proper handrail and spindles on the stairs.

I would like to, but it will still be a while yet, too much stuff to get cleared out, as well as the repairs.
I also need to find out how to sell a house, I've never done that before.

I am fine, keen to get more done on the house, but also being careful of my back.
We have been out to buy more plaster, and some paint, and the bits to get Mum's TV aerial cable into her bedroom.
I have lots I could be doing, but also aware that at my age slowing down a bit is also wise.

I think you have given the poor thing a bit of a shock with those calipers!
Don't forget to remove the batteries if you are putting the calipers away for more than a day or two. They eat batteries even when they are switched 'off'.

At the time I was known to be actively volunteering within the community and had contacts with the local people*. Someone asked me if I knew anyone local who would be interested in a particular part time job. I decided to apply for it myself. I have been there for 11 years now.
*I didn't know many people really, but everyone seems to think I know everyone, but in reality everyone seems to know me. I am not sure that is a good thing or not. I have been referred to as 'a local character'!
