@BramMeehan @ruralgloom I used to fence quite a bit, did okay, even went to lower level Nationals a few times. (Somebody has to place 68th out of 76.)Nothing prepared me for my 30 seconds on strip against the reigning 16-and-under World Champion. I was a beer league softball player trying to hit a peak Nolan Ryan fastball.We weren’t in the same universe and I still giggle a little when I think about it.

@ruralgloom I’ve lived in Tallahassee for over 20 years combined and grew up near Melbourne, so driven—slowly—through Cross City countless times. Don’t usually stop, since Gainesville is the natural halfway point. Although I’ve hit the Cross City Dairy Queen for an emergency milk shake from time to time.
