@Arthur Copeland Disdain and distrust might be reasonable, but they are not hatred. And until actual, serious harm is done, hatred is not reasonable. (And no, violation of copyright is not serious harm. It’s funny how much we all seem to like copyright all of a sudden.)

Their comments are full of remarks like “You’re not an artist,” and when they point out that they never claimed to be, they get things like “No, but you think you are, and that’s bad enough.” And so forth. That’s the kind of hate I’m talking about, kneejerk, irrational, and unwavering. It’s ugly to see, whatever you may think of its object. -
