      To be fair Stålenhag writes his own stories mostly through images. I think there is a movie or mini series out... But, I love to look at the books for inspiration on the mood and tone I'm going for with "The Novel I Can't Talk About Until It Is Done"

      This week I made a big breakthrough on a major plot point in the story. I have a mystery in my story. And I didn't know what the mystery was. I was so scared to pin it down to be one thing. But, now I know: it feels great.

        @futurebird There's a mini series _and_ a movie, as well as several TTRPG settings based on his works (and they do work wonderfully for that).

          @korenchkin

          The RPG might be nice. I've been avoiding the other stuff since just looking at the images gives me so many ideas and I don't really want to know "what it is officially."

          I like the way his painting raise all of these tantalizing questions about the world that they imply. "Could this be OUR world? Our future? Our past?"

          It's wonderful.

            @futurebird @alexwild I don't know where to start with all that is great about this picture. The computer, the stack of disks, the Sonic 2 poster, the Prodigy poster, more disks, that old DOS installer that so many things used (and I found out had an easily editable script system I could use for my own stuff,) the more disks, and of course the robot thingy. Did I mention the disks? 😁

              @nazokiyoubinbou @alexwild

              The feeling of leaning around some god awful project and your shirt pulling up but you don't care because by god it's almost WORKING.
