To be fair Stålenhag writes his own stories mostly through images. I think there is a movie or mini series out... But, I love to look at the books for inspiration on the mood and tone I'm going for with "The Novel I Can't Talk About Until It Is Done"
This week I made a big breakthrough on a major plot point in the story. I have a mystery in my story. And I didn't know what the mystery was. I was so scared to pin it down to be one thing. But, now I know: it feels great.

@futurebird There's a mini series _and_ a movie, as well as several TTRPG settings based on his works (and they do work wonderfully for that).

The RPG might be nice. I've been avoiding the other stuff since just looking at the images gives me so many ideas and I don't really want to know "what it is officially."
I like the way his painting raise all of these tantalizing questions about the world that they imply. "Could this be OUR world? Our future? Our past?"
It's wonderful.

@futurebird @alexwild I don't know where to start with all that is great about this picture. The computer, the stack of disks, the Sonic 2 poster, the Prodigy poster, more disks, that old DOS installer that so many things used (and I found out had an easily editable script system I could use for my own stuff,) the more disks, and of course the robot thingy. Did I mention the disks?

The feeling of leaning around some god awful project and your shirt pulling up but you don't care because by god it's almost WORKING.
