Maned Wolf
Maned Wolves are passive mobs that spawn rarely in Savanna biomes. Maned Wolves will often walk around but don't do that much unless they are fed a type of food. Feeding a Maned Wolf an Apple will make it shake its fur, producing a bad smell in the process. This smell will attract all nearby...

I found a Maned wolf at last and have been feeding it apples and my ants are making A LOT more Gongylidia so now I can breed even more ants. I'm very happy BUT.
Frankly I don't get the idea behind this game mechanic at all... can anyone please explain?

This mod did a great job with leafcutter ants, the only thing that could make it better would be if there were even more kinds of ants... it's almost enough to get me excited about learning how to make a mod.
*Weaver ants that live in trees. trade sweets with them to get glue.
*Bullet ants help you make poison arrows.
*Dinomyrmex would help you with item routing by putting objects on conveyer belts.
*Black Garden Ants that the crows would annoy by birding.

They limit you to just 25 ants per nest! I need to find a way to change that NOW.

@futurebird That's partly a practical limitation to avoid negative performance impacts if you have more than a few nests, since mob AI can really bog the engine down depending on what they're doing. I've had servers that became temporarily unplayable due to a mod forgetting to add a spawn cap for certain "complex AI" mobs; had to go into the config file to disable that mob completely to get things moving again (thankfully they were an "optional" mob that didn't really add anything)

*searching through config files for "ants" and "25" anyway*
