DO NOT BUY THE NINTENDO SWITCH 2 | Bearman3600
-
THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW THAT NINTENDO IS WORSE THAN IF POL POT AND MING THE MERCILESS STARTED A KISS TRIBUTE BAND WITH POL POT PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE.WOULDN'T THAT KIND OF DEPEND ON WHAT MING THE MERCILESS WAS PLAYING? YOU GOTTA GET SOME STRINGS IN THERE TO BE A PROPER KISS TRIBUTE BAND, SO IF HE WHIPPED OUT AN ELECTRIC MANDOLIN OR SOMETHING, I MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN LISTENING TO WHAT THEY COME UP WITH. I'M NOT SUPPORTING EITHER PERSON (FAKE OR REAL) IN ANY WAY, JUST BEING HONEST.

Nintendo bad, so don't support Nintendo. That's about it. I didn't finish it either, but I heard the rant and figured I wasn't missing much by not finishing.
-
Wasn't going to, it's such a dumb purchase unless you have money lying around. Why? The first Switch is pretty fantastic for my use case, which is casual gaming w/ my kids, their friends, and my nephews/nieces. I also have a Steam Deck and most of my gaming money goes to PC games. But I do like the Zelda series, so I'll buy a handful of games now and then for the Switch (usually as gifts to my kids for X-mas or whatever to kill two birds w/ one stone).
-
Loud person who makes their entire personality disliking Nintendo tells you not to buy Nintendo without highlighting any good reasons, just focusing on easy to hate on reasons.
-
I won't. And not even due to the bad PR. I never bought a Switch. Thought about it, but never got around to it. I guess I'm just not the target audience. Though now in thinking about it, I bet I can pick up a good condition used Switch on the cheap once this comes. Maybe I'll get the first gen Switch after all!First gen’s are hard to find cheap due to how easily exploited they are.

I wasn’t hugged enough as a child

I'm getting one on launch. Love my OG switch and got many cherished hours of gaming out of it.

First gen’s are hard to find cheap due to how easily exploited they are.And that's the only reason I'm even vaguely considering picking up a Switch 2 around launch. That said, even with a gen 1 Switch, booting into the CFW is just enough of a pain that I don't do it often. Gotta grab the shim for the rail, plug it into something that can deliver the payload... ugh. I miss the days of Wii and PSP homebrew. No online shit to get banned from, no special booting techniques. 3DS cfw came pretty close in terms of ease of use.

Mainly the price of games and the other price gouging tactics they’re trying outSure, if it's not a good value for you, then don't buy it. Console games have never been cheap, and consoles have generally been affordable (not cheap). IMO, the prices aren't outlandish when you take inflation into account. [Here's an article that goes over it](https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/every-game-console-price-from-nes-to-switch/#dt-heading-third-generation-systems): - OG NES - $180 in 1985, ~$480 today - SNES - $200 in 1991, ~$415 today - N64, Game Cube, Wii - ~$330, give or take - Switch - ~$440 And [this page lists game prices](https://infographicsite.com/infographic/console-game-prices-inflation-adjusted/): - NES - $146 - N64 - $120 - GameCube - ~$90 - Wii - $80 - Switch - $77 So generally a downward trend. The Switch 2's expected prices are a bit of a correction to $80-90, but still pretty much in line with recent consoles. Here's the image for reference:

are... are ''easy to hate reasons'' somehow inherently bad reasons?I wouldn’t say that no. But they are being used to whip people up into a fury effectively with out sharing all the facts. That’s why the video is ridiculously biased. Because if you came at it from a balanced perspective most people aren’t irrational. Nintendos actions while shit, all largely make sense.

Beat BotW and that was fun. Barely touched it since.

Ah, fair enough.Yeah, thank you for your comment. I don’t know if I expressed myself the clearest when I type things that I struggle with getting what I mean into words sometimes.

i fucking hate all capsI disabled my caps lock button, and my life got _so_ much better.
