      @futurebird I wish my dad was still around to laugh with me about this. (He was a total competitive-bridge nerd)

        Adderall is a drug used for ADHD but it's famously "abused" by students to "do better on tests"

        It is a stimulant.

        The new batch of Epstein files suggests that he was trying to blackmail Bill Gates about this, among other things that are ... not as amusing to talk about.

        Anyways.

          @futurebird As I read this post, my eldest offspring is lol'ling while discovering that the genre of Bridge Writing is an actual thing - not just instructional books, but also "bridge fiction".

          Synchronicity!

              @futurebird

              Apart from the scandals, these emails really bring home how unremarkable and pathetic billionaires are. They clearly owe most of their immense wealth to luck and/or nepotism and/or corruption.

                  Kind of glad I'm not super wealthy since it attracts some of the strangest parasites ...

                  I am poor enough that I know all of the people hanging around me really must like me for some reason.

                    @FediThing

                    They are so banal and pathetic especially in the things that they think of as secrets anyone would care about.

                    And even more in the abuse and crimes they commit but can't even recognize as crimes.

                    And the way they use email, the lack of OPSEC is disgusting.

                      @futurebird

                      Choosing to hoard so much money that one cannot possibly spend it does seem like something has gone badly wrong in their minds.

                      They could buy the very best stuff for themselves, their family and all their friends and they'd still have most of their money left over. Why would anyone want that much?
