I don't know as much about UK politics, but is the kind of guy, who isn't explicitly right wing, but "whops" "opsie daisy" everything around him just keeps lurching further and further to the right?

  • So last week I was trying to get everyone I knew to salt the "Clear Insights" poll from Cuomo.
    myrmepropagandistF myrmepropagandist

Just think about "corrupt lawyers" as and issue and the imaginary person for whom, when asked "what is your top political issue" they say "Ugh! It's all the corrupt lawyers!"

I sincerely believe if we just try, we can get Cuomo to believe these people exist. Because in his heart he wishes they existed. He needs them.

"corrupt lawyers" is just a random combination of two negative words. It could be "cracker barrel logo" or anything else.

A leader can teach, but is also always open to learning. A leader helps choose where everyone should focus to work effectively, we don't have leaders we have windsocks.

What is the purpose of salting a poll? It's an expression of disgust with data driven politics and the whole mentality behind it.

Of course data are important to any politician and they should be responsive to what their constituents say. However, this is about applying the methods of brand marketing to politics. It's about manipulation.

It has nothing to do with leadership. Remember leadership? A leader might choose to highlight an issue their constitutes didn't know about.

At least two other people have told Cuomo they are "moderate" and their top issue is "Corrupt Lawyers"

We picked "Corrupt Lawyers" as our fake write-in issue because I want this to *work* I don't want Cuomo's consultants to just dismiss our answers as people trolling the poll.

So the issue needed to sound plausible but also be... just not something that anyone really cares about.

The poll is still being run. So if you see it say you are "moderate" and write in "corrupt lawyers"

So last week I was trying to get everyone I knew to salt the "Clear Insights" poll from Cuomo. I didn't find many people on here who got the poll (it went out to people on NYC voter roles) BUT posting on my co-op message board where we complain about how long it's taking to replace the roof and the laundry room got some action.

If you'd like to take used clothing up a notch, buy it a little large and get it tailored. For pants this could just be hemming and a waist adjustment. Shirts are harder.

I'm a big advocate to going to lengths to get clothing that fits, this is what makes it look good and feel good.

  • How much do you think it cost automakers to add seat-belts to their cars?

The brain shift I've been experiencing is that there are people who would sell out human lives just to save a few hundred bucks.

Like I said, the anti vax mom makes more sense to me. Is more relatable ... even though that one was a doozy to understand as it was.

or maybe they are just really thinking short term?

or that if you are the kind of country that ensures everyone gets basic vaccines people will wonder about other similar things that save lives.

Like prenatal care, better nutrition, etc. etc.

But, normally if a candidate "goes viral" and gets national attention they just keep collecting money all that they can.

In the best case they use it to help other members of their party... often it just ends up ... gone, one way or another.

Enthusiastic volunteers are priceless. A single motivated person can pull more votes than thousands spent on commercials.

But you can't buy a new car with an enthusiastic volunteer.

One of the most common things the very few people I know who voted for Trump in 2016 have cited as their reason was that goofy promise he made to take a salary of "just one dollar"

To me this said Trump was going to be getting paid a lot more than the quarter of million we pay the president in OTHER ways, but it was really meaningful to a lot of people.

I like this better since it is more plausible. There is an upper limit to what spending can do over people power.

    Banger of a political advertisement.

It's not just an ad, though, he needs to stick to this and make it real. I'll be watching and I'm a meanie about this kind of thing. Because it's kind of the root of all of the other things that keep being broken.

I also think it will be a hard thing to do. And if he does it? Worth cheering for.

I'm stunned! In this short political ad Zohran asks for people to stop sending money and please come help with the door knocking and the chit chatting needed to really win an election.

I don't really know if I believe him? But, that is because he is a politician. And my trust has been totally destroyed! However, I'm delighted he's saying it, and if it's true?

Woah. Seriously. This is what I'm always wishing they would do.

When the seat belt "debate" was still going on one annoying argument was that seat belts could in some edge cases cause harm. And I think this is very similar to talk about the edge cases with vaccines.

And part of what making this kind of muddying of the waters is effective is the drops of truth. The initial designs for seat-belts had flaws. They were still better than not having them and if they were mandated sooner more people would be alive. Period.
