I dont know that this is the sub where we want to talk about emulation and the stuff that comes with it. Especially when it comes to indie game devs imo
Ya I’ll buy it at some point when it’s on sale but they tried to change too much and instead of sticking to the formula and improving what they missed or messed up on in 6, they just changed everything.
Best case they use the ai to satisfy their fucked up desires this leaving real children unharmed and ungroomed. As the cheap easy source of functionally infinite and free material is now at their beck and call.
I'm reality. This will just make it easier for them to cause more harm to real children.
This reality fucking sucks donkey nuts. Can we just blow it up and start over.
Thats the thing with Ubisoft. They dont make offensively bad games. They're mostly just bland. What sells them (for me) are pretty unique settings and cool broader concepts. Thats probably that french je ne sais quoi which pulls in (my) attention. But everything else just falls apart if you're a bit more into games. You know i dont want to use the 'G' word. I dont want to make the case fore the distinction between casuals and hArDcoRe - there it is - gAmeRS.
But Ubisoft games just still feel soooo formulaic. Even when they kinda try to remedy that fact. Yeah, they try to clutter the map with less interest points. Yeah, they stopped making you climb towers to populate said maps with interest points. But it still feels made by committee. That corporate smoothing stone is just there.
Atleast gameplaywise i could handle it. But my biggest gripe personally is just the utterly shit writing in Ubisoft games. Its just soooo bad IMHO. They cant tell a compelling story. Always feels like an afterthought to the gameplay which already isnt landing for me.
Like yeah, SW Outlaws is a above average alright AAA title. But i just cant anymore after 15 years of the same shit with the same patterns.
Wolfenstein (2009): uses Return to Castle Wolfenstein footage. I've not played the 2009 game but I immediately felt that there was a bit of graphical disparity there!
I expected it, tbh. The gamer crowd is especially prone to piling on to bandwagons they are clueless about. But you know, if it encourages just one of these people to look at the games they’re criticizing, it’s net positive
There's Heroic Games Launcher. If you buy GOG games through it, Heroic even gets a cut to support development, so you can simultaneously make an open source launcher better and show GOG what it takes to earn your sale.
> If they actually partnered with framework that’s an instabuy for me.
Why there isn't a Framework Desktop option with SteamOS is beyond me but I have trouble imagining how the name Frame would relate to a PC other than the Framework brand.
Went from "never before seen AAAA game made by a studio with unlimited resources" to "everyone's fired, everything's cancelled, fuck off to another publisher if you can, and by the way we're keeping the IP so go explain that to them, too."
Good job, Microsoft, thank you very much for buying half the videogame industry before deciding it wasn't worth it.
It's because they were. The system they used to generate weapons in 2 allowed for tons of unique but mostly garbage guns. This also combined with different drop mechanics so a random bandit didn't have a chance to drop something amazing, you had to wade through trash to find the gimmick enemies and bosses that actually dropped good loot.
Yeah, I've found some real unexpected gems within my own library that I never knew I bought. Mostly through bundles. My absolute favorite discovery is a small adventure game named Little Misfortune, and I find myself quoting it often. Yikes forever.
