@futurebird Southern White women get some of the weirdest passes imaginable. She’s terribly uneducated, but no where near stupid. And she’s the dangerous kind of woman. Other Southern white women wouldn’t walk in front of her, where their back would to her. No way.

The men who say things like that mean they should be able to control “their women” without hitting them. It’s about the perceived violence of striking rather than the real violence of control.
