I'm slogging through a wicked pile of US history exams and have been keeping notes on my favourite misspellings just for fun.It's interesting seeing a new generation of young adults who have done all of their writing on computers, never by hand, with the safety net of spellcheck. When it's gone, things get pretty fast and loose.
I wouldn't ever shame a specific student in person for amazingly bad grammar. On the other hand, we professors totally do hang on to the best examples and share them (names redacted) among ourselves...
Full disclosure: I have no idea how to use the Uber Eats app.

Everyone in the fam thinks I'm high whenever I ask if we're going "Krogering" instead of grocery shopping, but that ad really stuck for some reason. I also still do "duh-duh-duh-duh, TJ Maxx" whenever we drive by one of their stores.
This is what it feels like to realize you've pretty much turned into your own dad.

CFL season starts tonight and I'd just like to suggest to #Ottawa fans that while your team name is powerfully dorky, "Rouge et Noir" is much less so than "Redblacks." Drop the bilingualism and go straight French.That tracks. Ottawa 67s is way more clever and plays in both languages a lot better. It can be done!
At the bare minimum, the league has come along way from the days when there were two teams called the Rough Riders...

If I understand correctly, the team chose this name because it was inspired by the red and black clothing historically worn by the region's lumberjacks and the unis of the Governor General's Foot Guard soldiers at parliament. But you didn't go with "Lumberjacks" or "Foot Guard"? #CFL

In American English, a "Philadelphia lawyer" is a very skilled or shrewd practitioner of the law. This is very much meant to be a compliment.
However, every time I heard the expression used back home in #Canada (SW Ontario), frequently by my old man, it was used for a loud blowhard. Lots of bluster, no idea what was actually going on. Is this our common definition or just a Sarnia thing? #baseball
