The ongoing legal saga of the DC sandwich thrower, Sean Dunn, has led me down memory lane to that time when Canadian PM Jean Chretien got pied in the face by a protester back in August 2000. A free and democratic society can do with a bit of this from time to time and the "victim" always comes off as sympathetic when they play it for a laugh instead of pretending they were assaulted. I get American commercials from southeast Missouri while I’m watching the #bluejays on the Sportsnet feed via mlb.tv. Just saw one for the Make a Wish Foundation where a 4-year-old boy with cancer got to live out his dream of joining a SWAT team. They put him in tactical gear, gave him an orange-tipped toy gun, and engineered a raid on a hostage taker in an office building. The beaming kid got to put the perp in zip ties at the end of the spot. This is 2025 America.
