I hate being that guy, but... yes, there's some tremendous folklore surrounding this one, but it wasn't a gold medal game (the Miracle on Ice team later took down the Finns for that honour) and ABC didn't even broadcast the game live! But everyone of a certain age claims they remember where they were...

As we learned during 4 Nations early this year, Team USA (the men's side at least) is loudly MAGA, a great shame for good, hockey-loving Yanquis who want to enjoy the OLY tournament. Y'all are the villains this time.

A buddy of mine has just started teaching precision agriculture (aka drones in farmers' fields) at a Ukrainian uni and he told me yesterday that he prepped 10 exams for a class of 20 students. When I asked him if this was a ton of extra work for him as an instructor, he told me it's standard practice over there to discourage cheating. I really like this approach in principle, but I'll give it a pass myself.
