I've been having a few surreal conversations about AI with one or two people I know who may be less pessimistic about the tech than I am.
In both cases we are not talking about investor types, these are artists. And they'll say something like "Now I can shoot that period drama I wrote and didn't have the budget for!"
And I want this to be true for them. (In this case I've read the script and it's very good and I would like to watch it.)

I'm experiencing stress from wondering where exactly this tech is being injected all of the time.
This might drive me off the iPhone at last, although I did just get my screen fixed and felt like I ought to be good for two more years.

I use speech to text in apple's notepad on my phone. Since the most recent OS update I've noticed a big jump in quality.
Wondering if the text is getting brushed up by an LLM?
For example: I narrated a paragraph about ants and it got the word "integument" correct. (I fully expected it to be wrong. "In Ted, good man")
This happens to be one of the few things I think LLMs do well --but I also would like to know about all the water I'm destroying.

The queen of my carpenter colony had a prime mate who was an ant.
This is a top quality stump. Any ant colonies in there? Stumps are great for finding ants.

How foolish of me to have not made a better landing spot for her. When will I learn? It's horrible.
Pica just tried to jump up on the table but landed on an unstable pile of books knocking them over. She then looked at me and meowed in dismay in exactly the way I was about to yell at her for knocking my stuff over again.
She then marched off and is now sitting *next* to me, in a small furry huff. But, facing away from me as if was my fault.
You were targeted by something like this? That sounds very annoying. How does the scam work?
If the giving part is important see if you can be the person who gets groceries for someone in your building or neighborhood who could use help with shopping.
I used to do this for a few people in our building and I kind of miss it and may see about getting back to it.
The social part is a little stressful but that is something I'm working on.
