Latest finished read. “Ghostdrift” by Suzanne Palmer, fourth and final book in the Finder Chronicles. Enjoyed all four. Solid space opera with a bit of an updated Stainless Steel Rat vibe—crazy plans, heists, things go wrong but there are contingencies.
This book had both “space pirates” and “marooned on a planet” bits. Thumbs up!

@seaks I really liked him too, and looking at his page I realize he hit better with the Reds than anyone else.
Also didn’t realize how many teams he was with. I only remember Reds, Tigers, Mariners.

4 Reds, 3 Negro Leaguers, Gaylord Perry, & Odell Jones! Solid!
Shoutouts: Jeff Conine, Bruce Chen, Jamie Moyer, B.J. Ryan, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Gregg Jefferies, Bill Stein, Wilson Redus, and Chris Sabo.
But NO shoutout to Anthony DeSclafani, who was a Giant and was traded to Seattle, but never actually played for Seattle. You almost got me!
Cheers!
Yes, I’m really enjoying these 1970 Topps!
Here’s one for the Pirates fans out there.
Spoiler Alert!!!
Curt Flood may have been traded to the Phillies, but he did not want to play for the Phillies. The rest is baseball history!
Okay, this is a damn cool card.
I’m not the first to think that:
For those of you who've been reading my blog since I got started, you may recall one of my early posts on The Coolest Baseball Card of All T...
(fleersticker.blogspot.com)
Stumbled into a very good deal on a lot of 300+ 1970 Topps baseball cards. Condition is meh, but luckily I don’t care about that. Mostly commons, but a few Hall of Famers too.
There’s more than one way to do a thing. Sometimes they are very different.
Hell yeah, Will Benson! Reds win!!!

Damn Solid Grid with 6/9 Reds Nonsense!
Gamble, Carty, & Mule Suttles are favorites. They were never Reds; the other 6 were. Honestly, just remembering the Reds 1st Round picks solves that category for me; so many 10-ish WAR career journeymen.
Disappointed Texas and 2B were parallel, not crossing. Only one career game at 2B for Gary Redus, but it was at Texas!
And Max Muncy at 3B for the A’s . . . wait, what!! . . . oh, right, there are two of them.
— Me. Every damn time. #baseball
@seaks Feel like the utility gold glove should be named after Ben Zobrist. He would have won a bunch back at his peak.
@seaks Huh, Trout never won a gold glove? Yeah that’s weird. And Jeter did, which is just stupid. Feh!
And yes, Triolo is a cool pick. Utility gold glove is also weird, but I get it with the way guys get moved all over the field now.

Eight Hall of Famers and my favorite player.
Not my favorite categories; in fact, several of my least favorite—silver slugger, gold glove, rookie of year, 3000+ hits. Restrictive. Still, not a terrible grid.
Shoutouts: Minnie Miñoso, Vic Power, Leo Cardenas, Joey Votto, Johnny Edwards, Buck Leonard, Buck O’Neil, Mule Suttles, Branch Rickey, & Jackie Robinson.
I really should finally sign up and find out, but I’ll only have data since February when I got my new phone.

All over the place today. Some nice picks, some too obvious. But, I mean, how do you not pick Gorman Thomas?
It’ll do. Enjoy your Fridays!

Two father-son OF combos, a brother OF combo, and a mixed bag in the Red Sox column.
Minimum Reds nonsense, just Nick Esasky.
Haven’t used Fergie Jenkins in a while, but I have been a Rick Wise guy recently.
Shoutouts: Babe Ruth, Dennis Eckersley, Jack Clark, Travis Jankowski, Bip Roberts, Larry Biitner, Ken Griffey Sr., and Kal Daniels.
@seaks Damn there’s a lot to like here. Forgot Ohlendorf was a Red. Lousy team, but a full year in the pen; shame on me. I also don’t let think of Ainge as an infielder. Dave Collins!
Al Oliver and Weaser Robinson are great!
Very nice!
