I sympathize, but come at it differently. My dislike for the Cardinals is so deep, I try to think of guys I like, who happened to briefly be Cardinals, through no fault of their own.

See, I love this chart. It makes it very clear that the New York Times cares about institutions and not actual people. Specifically, they really don’t care about minorities and specifically do care about the institutions designed to serve wealthy white folks.

Skeeter Barnes was my first thought and typing him in and saw Skeeter Newsome and remembered he was a Red Sox and then went checking.

Phillies column is easy after 15 years there. Cummings was in their OF in 1997 when I moved there.

I used to fence quite a bit, did okay, even went to lower level Nationals a few times. (Somebody has to place 68th out of 76.)

Nothing prepared me for my 30 seconds on strip against the reigning 16-and-under World Champion. I was a beer league softball player trying to hit a peak Nolan Ryan fastball.

We weren’t in the same universe and I still giggle a little when I think about it.
