“When is a car like an oblique reference to a stanza of poetry?” -
I'm sorry I'm not trying to turn Thanksgiving 2025 into Thanksgiving: The Gender Controversy, but this "oh, you have to be in the far upper right tail of the math ability distribution to go into engineering" is laughable on its face as soon as you look...Please forgive me if this is obvious. I occasionally think about the guys who would mock people for getting an English degree. Now they’re getting an A.I. to write their code for them. Suddenly, taking care with language and choosing the precise word is “prompt engineering.”

#immaculategrid x #baseballQuick Grid! 3 Guys I remember in person:
1987: Spike Owen hit the walkoff HR in bottom of 12th over Green Monster, first MLB game I attended!
1992-94: Jacob Brumfield was great in several Spring Training games for Reds. Was sure he’d be a star.
2002: Terrmel Sledge was clearly the best guy on the field for AA Harrisburg, PA.
Solid grid. The Romo Brothers!

#immaculategrid x #baseball7 Reds (yes, I’m counting Piniella). Gaylord and Grubb were the guys I thought of, and no Reds leapt to mind.
I like that Wally Pipp is at 4%, lots of people remembering him. He had 31.8 career WAR!
Cheers!

#immaculategrid x #baseballFirst Thoughts Grid!
Truly the first guys I thought of, except Dempsey. First thought was Eric Davis, but I’d already used him.
Davis, May, and Householder are the only Reds, which is a bit surprising.
Larry “the Devil” Milbourne is definitely an APBA-based pick. His 1981 season was solid.
An overwhelming early-to-mid-80s streak here. Yep. I’m getting old.

It's Sunday, here, have a cat. -
⚾️ Immaculate Grid 966 9/9:Also:
1) Always need to remind myself that Pokey Reese may have been traded to Colorado, but he never actually played for the Rockies!
2) The Boston Red Sox are, historically, just terrible at stealing bases. Not their thing at all.
3) Aside from Bloomquist & Cairo, Kristopher Negron was also a Red who played 2B for the Mariners. Man, that would have been good. He’s been mentioned as a potential manager.
4) Gary Redus!!! A single inning at 2B for Texas when he was 36 years old? Glorious!

#immaculategrid x #baseballAll Reds Nonsense!
Pretty easy. Too easy. I double-checked Reyes was in Boston, but was 90% sure.
Left center spot to last, because I wanted someone better than Boone, but it never came. Probably lucky, because Rick Auerbach & Wilson Valdez (who I really should have remembered) only played SS. Guys I needed were Willie Bloomquist and Miguel Cairo. Oh well.

First time using Duke Cleveland. Recently discovered one of the very few Negro League ballparks that still exists today was home to the Jacksonville Red Caps. Who played the most games for the Red Caps? Duke Cleveland!
Shoutouts: Jonathan India, Pat Zachry, Ernie Lombardi, and Frank Robinson.

#immaculategrid x #baseballEnd of Day Grid.
Really need to do these at the start of the day over coffee. This late and I half-ass it.
Only 5 Reds today, but Rico, Dock, and Tiant are all awesome and among my favorites.
Used Shooty Babbitt last time, so Herb Washington today—a wonderfully popular pick for a guy with no career plate appearances.
Shoutouts: Joey Votto & Drew Stubbs!

Early morning brain fog grid ..@seaks A Deion Sanders grid, to me, is more suggestive of an All-Reds-CFs-who-were-blazing-fast-but-had-no-bat Grid.
And gods were there tons of them.
