Good. The fault is absolutely on Epic for not putting in proper confirmation dialogues for spending resources tied to real world currency. And, as a former f2p/mobile game dev, I don't buy the argument of "we didn't know that would happen!". They absolutely knew, and were trying their luck. Thing is, they most likely made a lot more in erroneous purchases than what they have to pay in reimbursements (think people accidentally pressing a button, making an erroneous purchase, then choosing to "live with it because the amount was small anyway")... So, in the long run the deceptive practice probably paid off for them. Though, I hope this lawsuit dissuades them from trying it again. ~Disclaimer: I know nothing about Epic's finances, so any assumption made above is just that: a baseless assumption, backed only by the fact I've had many similar experiences.~

Still going strong since the update last year, i think i only saw a hacking bot once by playing regularly in the last year. From a player perspective, bots are not a problem at the moment, TF2 is back to its usual chaos

they also have child labour exploitation and gambling that is mostly the direct fault of those who operate roblox and not just an "accused of allowing" situation. I'd like to see them punished for all of their bullshit, though if these lawsuits go anywhere I'll still consider it a win.

You are completely missing my point. Linux will not be adopted by the masses which it needs to do to kill Microsoft's stranglehold on the industry while there is no uniformity to it. The idea of hating Microsoft but not wanting to make it easier for current Microsoft users to switch to Linux isn't coming from 2 sides of the Linux group. It coming from the same individuals. It's the worst type of gatekeeping.

As a foster parent, we get trained on how kids frequently get trafficked and the number one place is anywhere parents feel their kids are safe and don't need close supervision. So anything kid centric like Disney World or family centric like a church are prime targets for predators. Roblox is a kid centric place where parents don't closely watch their kids. Roblox is a big enough company and has been around long enough that they should be doing something. They should be doing something because they definitely know this happens at this point. As far as I can tell, there isn't a report or any way to validate they are actually doing anything. You just have to trust that the publicly traded company is investing in a department that doesn't directly generate profits for its stock holders. You have to trust this company is not giving in to pressure each quarter to increase profits and decrease costs around this function of their business. I push back on the idea that if something is designed for kids it doesn't need to be safe for kids. Roblox has designed something for kids, they should do something to make it safe for kids, and parents should watch their kids.

The mod engine is supposed to be an eye-watering 700gb. Holy fuck. I'd considered trying my hand at some mods, but, uh... that might have to wait for me to pop another drive in my machine first.

Owners of MMORPG EverQuest sue 1 emulator that has relatively up to date content and takes in money from "donators" in exchange for in game currency. Daybreak Games is not suing free emulators like Project 1999. IMO, I am ok with this.
