Why is he dragging Ukraine into this? It's like a tornado of "things that will trigger them" but none of it even holds together in any coherent way other than throwing a "NO NO NO" tantrum against anything perceived as "from the other side"

The Confederate flag is a symbol of white supremacy and support for slavery. -
Finally finished this years-long WIP late last night!Yeah I think you are right. They seem a bit intricate for knitting based on this thread.
There is just something so luxurious about a handmade item, especially when it is "plain" but finely made like these socks of yours.
Maybe I will make mittens instead. Considering how slow I am I should start now to have them for fall.

Thought I had a better "pale pink" than "urban blush", but my only other pink is really bright and I thought it wouldn't match good with the other colors.I think it looks really classy.

Is it possible to knit compression socks? Like the kneehigh kind for runners?

Does anyone manufacture a countertop dishwasher that isn't disposable?I mean... maybe, but at some point I think I should just build my own automatic washer from scratch if I have to basically make the case... and there are good reasons for the glue and pressure fitting, many parts of a dishwasher need to be water tight to work properly.
If it's a sunny day I will drag it out on the roof and put it on an old towel and give it the old college try.

The German antkeepers call trophallaxis (which sounds like a medical procedure) the much cuter "schwesternkuss" and I think we should steal this word into English-speaking antkeeping because it's better.Maybe we can still make this happen!

Does anyone manufacture a countertop dishwasher that isn't disposable?I'm looking for the screws to take it apart and so much of it is pressure fit, and glued. I don't want to put a large plastic object in the trash, but there is a limit to my time and willingness to suffer.
The countertop dishwasher cured my depression. It's the tiny thing that makes keeping the whole apartment clean possible. I suppose it's not THAT time consuming to hand-wash and if I had more time I might.
I would pay a lot for one that I could fix.

I've had the second one break on me in 8 years (they seem to last 4 years which is pathetic) Granted these appliances cost about $250 this makes the notion of repairing it hard to justify.
Pumps wear out and if you make the entire appliance out of plastic you can't open it without breaking it to replace the pump.
I will attempt a repair but I'm not optimistic. I think I may just buy and new one and hate it.

Left wing content creators frequently talk about how much more money they could make if they went right wing.Left wing content creators frequently talk about how much more money they could make if they went right wing.
Right-wing content is heavily subsidized. Left wing content runs on the fumes of passion. Right wing wealthy sponsors will hand over cash to people who advance their agenda who are often deeply imperfect. They are desperate.
Democrats want perfection and a mega popular podcaster will never ever be a pristine and perfect person.

Creatures as wide ranging as octopuses, insects, mammals and more show signs of sleep phases. If they sleep then I think we need to check on the plants too. Damn.

Every now and then I check in on the tumblr ant colony bug role-play group.Every now and then I check in on the tumblr ant colony bug role-play group. (I tried to participate but it's not for me) but I still like to look in on what they are doing for lines like this:
"I am a very wealthy bug. I own *several* grapes."
When you see a bug you never know if it might be a *wealthy* bug. Watch your step I suppose!

Do people who have no experience with small mammals and cats in particular read cat body language correctly? She does that too. But she also makes that particular face before meowing because she's annoyed.

Creatures as wide ranging as octopuses, insects, mammals and more show signs of sleep phases. My armchair guess is that if a creature uses it's neurons to have memories then they MUST dream. Maybe if you can't dream you can't make memories?

Creatures as wide ranging as octopuses, insects, mammals and more show signs of sleep phases.Creatures as wide ranging as octopuses, insects, mammals and more show signs of sleep phases. For some parts of sleep the brain is less active, during others REM, RAM (Rapid Antennae Movement) or other body movements and changes indicate a more active brain.
This suggests that either dreaming evolved multiple times in parallel... or it is something a very very basic common ancestor of all animals experienced.
It also suggests that something about brains means sleep is needed. (IMO)
