A film student chumbawampa has a youTube channel that compiles news clips on this topic. It's interesting work and has surprisingly few views. There isn't any narration, just edits of the news.

If you want to explore ruins in a big city Sunday or Saturday morning is the best time. There are few people around and also few cops.

After 9/11 we had to be a little more cautious because for a few years security got a bit intense. Having a camera helps since we were there to take photos. Or we'd stop and just sketch in our notebooks for a bit.

Another memory is simply putting a bunch of books on tape on a cheap mp3 player and walking around the college campuses in the city listening to "The Culture" series. The culture series is forever connected to community college basements in my mind.

On Saturday and Sunday mornings I would hang out with the NYC urban explorers group. We'd go into all of these abandoned places, the Highline (before it was a park it was a hidden wilderness) the Freedom Tunnel, subways and basements, the aqueduct and Highbride park ... each of us would take turns being the tourguide and finding a new place to impress the others. The guide would tell the story of the place in the place itself. Sharing how we found it, and why it was abandoned.

There are a lot of notions about this that I've written off because they came from bad sources who use bad reasoning. However as more evidence is exposed I think some otherwise crazy people may have been right about a few things (eg. it wasn't suicide) or at least it is unreasonable to rule that out.

The sheer amount of noise and ulterior motives makes the whole thing very difficult to parse.

But I haven't been on there for two years and don't really want to go back, nor did I ever have a strong understanding of the landscape of political content on tiktok.

Some people really enjoy the algorithm and can just watch what is served. That's never worked for me. I like to pick all of the videos I watch, even though I do like to watch a lot of short videos.

In any case having tiktok "sort of banned" is bad. Ideally don't ban it... or just ban it and enforce the law.

It is illegal for tiktok to be in the app stores in the US. It's legal to use the app, but we currently have a law on the books that says it shouldn't be in app stores and this isn't being enforced.

And that seems like a good thing until you also note that creators on the platform have claimed that they have been banned and their content throttled by the algorithm if it's "anti-trump"

Have any of you noticed this?

I used to do a lot on tiktok with ant videos, had a few of them blow up.

As for the question is this about what it means to be convex in higher dimensions? I have a hard time separating an intersection in a model or shadow of a higher dimensional object from a real intersection. And I thought higher dimensional hypercubes were all convex...

Part of me has become detached to deal with it. Because in the long line of this planet's history other destructive species have existed, thrived and died. Biodiversity ebbs, flows. So really we are destroying all of this for ourselves. We will never get to see or know what we have destroyed.

Are we exceptional enough to realize and minimize further loss?

Or are we just another creature that will spam the fossil record with our numerous bones?

I keep coming back to this but the director of the local theater had clearly talked to all of our parents first. Then they gathered all of us, about 20 girls, and just the girls in the green room and told us that if we wanted to do outside auditions we should be careful.

I think they had an advertisement for one of these operations on the board where they posted local auditions and felt bad about it!

Perhaps someone went and something happened. It was very scary.

I was always so jealous of my friends who got to do modeling. Now I thank the lord I was in a few AT&T commercials and an extra.

I'd also like to note that in the interview Maxwell contradicts Trump. She says she "never recruited from Mar a lago" But Trump said that Virginia Giuffre was "stolen" from his spa there as a teen by Epstein. In her own words Virginia told us that it was Maxwell who did this.

You can find tapes of victims talking about how much she scared them, how she coerced and tricked them. The victims are clear. And this is why she was convicted and given a harsh sentence.

Not that it looks like she will serve it now.
